What Are Thin-Skin Microcapsules?

Capsulent microcapsules are ultra-thin membranes that surround droplets of active materials in consumer products, releasing them slowly over time.

These semi-permeable walls are made from plant-based polymers like cellulose and alginate (from seaweed), that are precipitated as an ultra-thin charged
film. Unlike competing technologies, our process uses no formaldehyde
or other covalent cross-linkers.

Capsulent’s patented charged-film encapsulation process
produces walls that are much thinner than is possible
with other microcapsule technologies, so payloads
exceed 99%, and our products are cost-effective
for mass-market applications.
